Last year a small but mighty group represented Hamilton Irish Arts in the Toronto St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Led by Barry and Louise Quinn in the Quinnmobile, we were enthusiastically received by the audience along the route.
This year we hope to be BIG and mighty! We are sending this out to all Hamilton Irish Arts members with the hope some of you might want to join us for an enjoyable 5km walk through Toronto on Sunday, March 19th.
Here’s what we know at this point:
☘️The parade begins at 12 noon sharp at St. George and Bloor Streets
☘️Participants need to get themselves to and from the parade. Most of us will once again catch the GO Train to Toronto, and take the subway to St. George Station.
☘️If you want to start with us and leave early, or meet us along the route and finish with us, the route follows the Bloor and Yonge subway lines, so there are multiple options.
☘️Comfortable footwear and clothing are a must. We recommend a backpack for adding/removing layers in addition to water and snacks.
☘️Our place in the parade has not been finalized, but as soon as we hear when we are stepping off we’ll let everyone know.
☘️Some of our members proudly displayed their County colours, adding to the many shades of green seen below.
We hope you will be able to join us for all or part of the route. The craic was mighty last year, and if you are still looking for your 15 minutes of fame — we even made it onto the 6:00 news!
