REJIGGED ONLINE FESTIVAL 2020
IS A WHOLE NEW KETTLE OF FISH!
Taking this festival online is “a whole new kettle of fish,” as we say in Nova Scotia. So here are a few hints to help you navigate ReJigged 2020 from wherever you are in the world.
Time & Place: For the past 11 years, our festival has taken place in lovely Downtown Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. This year, since we can’t gather together, we are moving the Festival online.
I’m from outside the province. What time is it there? Here in Nova Scotia, Canada, we work on Atlantic Time, which is GMT-3.
ReJigged Festival goes online for 2020
In this year of Covid, ReJigged — Atlantic Canada’s premier new trad Celtic festival — is going online for 2020.
From October 23 – 25, leading artists from across Canada, Ireland, the UK and the US are coming together – virtually – for three free streamed concerts, along with ReJigged’s always popular workshop program in music and dance. That means you can enjoy all that ReJigged has to offer from the comfort of your own home.
And it’s easy. This year’s three Main Stage evening concerts are being streamed on ReJigged’s Main Stage page, Facebook page and YouTube channel – all for free. The workshops will be delivered via Zoom or pre-recorded video.
Among this year’s featured artists and instructors are Ireland’s Eleanor Shanley, Cormac Begley, Aoife Scott along with Kevin Crawford, Colin Farrell and Patrick Doocey of Lúnasa, along with Tim Edey (BBC Folk Awards Musician of the Year), Kevin Henderson (UK), uillleann piper Joey Abarta (US), and Jenn Butterworth, named Musician of the Year at the Scots Trad Music Awards. From closer to home, you’ll catch Wendy MacIsaac, Rosie MacKenzie and Andrea Beaton, among others. And if you love great step dance, ReJigged 2020 features some of today’s leading percussive dancers, including Nic Gareiss, Kieran Jordan and Jackie O’Riley (Irish sean-nos), Matt Olwell (Appalacian flatfooting), Yaëlle Azoulay (Quebecois step) and Melody Cameron (Cape Breton).
An Cumann is proud once again to support ReJigged Festival as sponsor of the 2020 workshop program. As thanks for our support, ReJigged is offering our members two free All-Access workshop passes, worth $50 each. These passes are available on a first come, first served basis.
