Sessions are the best example of what Irish music is about. It’s an intangible thing that needs to be experienced to be understood. The session is the life–blood of traditional music, and with the session goes the associated notion of “craic”.
Our session is unique in being inclusive of all levels of musicians and singers as well as alternating songs and tunes to make sure everyone has the chance to shine. We have great traditional practitioners, but we also encourage new participants or beginners. We love to see the beginners go from strength to strength each week.
The other unique feature is that our main, amplified session goes from 7 to 10 pm but there is an “unplugged” pre-session from 6 to 7 pm, for tunes only, where the musicians can jam together and hone their skills. Some of the musicians also continue after 10 pm.
Every Tuesday at the Corktown Pub, 175 Young Street, Hamilton, Ontario, L8N 1V7
We hope to see you there!
